Taxonomic remark The genus Challengeron is variously attributed in the literature to either Murray, 1879 or Haeckel, 1887; it is unclear which is correct at this time since Murray, 1879 might be a valid publication making Haeckel, 1887 a later usage, or Murray, 1879 a nomen nudum or unpublished name in which case Haeckel, 1887 could be the legitimate name. At this time in IRMNG we treat the Murray, 1879 name as accepted and that by Haeckel, 1887 as a later usage, although this could change with additional information. [details]
