Taxonomic remark Srivastava, 1981 included this genus in the synonymy of Kurtzipites Anderson, however subsequently (Srivastava & Braman, 2013) considered the type species, A. polyformis Stanley, 1965 to be a synonym of Aquilapollenites minutus Srivastava, 1966, which is curious because one would expect either A polyformis or Kurtzipites trispissatus Anderson, 1960 to have priority. Additionally, other recent workers treat Kurtzipites as an accepted genus. The correct synonymy of this name should most likely be researched further. [details]
