Taxonomic remark McMenamin et al., 1983 state: Following Hofmann (1976), we recognize that Melasmatosphaera may represent a degradational morph of other taxa; in this assemblage, possible candidates include Kheinjuasphaera vulgaris, or solitary individuals of Myxococcoides minor or Glenobotrydion aenigmatis.
