From Köhler & Bouchet, 2020: Iredale (1939: 16) fixed a type species, but provided no description. Hence, Telembryon is unavailable (Art. 13.1). It has not been made available by Breure (1979: 91) or Smith (1992: 101), who listed it as a synonym of Bothriembryon along with the type species, but without a description.
