Taxonomic remark Treated as Protista incertae sedis following Zölffel & Oliver, 1997. AlgaeBase (2021) assigns Paramastix to Chlorophyta incertae sedis, but this seems to be without foundation. Loeblich III, 1967 also mentions this family (in the context of an algal treatment) but does not say where he assigns it; in any event, his work would be superseded by more recent studies. [details]
