Taxonomic remark Saxena & Trivedi, 2006, list this genus as accepted (without further comment) among pollen and spores, as Ovoidites Krutzsch, however according to Rich et al., 1982, "Krutzsch (1960) suggested that Tertiary specimens might be confused with Larix or Pseudotsuga pollen, but goes no further in his diagnosis than to suggest that Ovoidites "cysts" may actually be related to freshwater plankton." [details]
