Taxonomic remark Originally published as Foraminifera. (Index Nominum Genericorum). From Knaust, 2020: ... an interpretation of Glomovertella as a foraminifer is questionable (e.g. Loeblich & Tappan 1964) and an interpretation as algae was discussed by Elias (1954). The calcareous microfossil Glomovertella is now understood as the coiled filaments of fungi known from the late Ediacaran and Cambrian (Hermann & Podkovyrov 2008). [details]
