Taxonomic remark As "phylum Pseudofungi (Oomycota)" in Ruggiero et al., 2015, but phylum Oomycota is in use in most subsequent major sources including MycoBank, Hyde et al., 2024 and Index Fungorum. In fact, Pseudofungi as a group encompasses more than just Oomycota, also including the Hyphochytriomycetes, the latter currently treated as a phylum in IRMNG; if included in IRMNG, would reside between superphylum (Heterokonta) and phylum (Oomycota plus more), but no rank is currently available.
