Taxonomic remark From Evenhuis & Pape, 2019: Given the number of Robineau-Desvoidy names included by Meigen (1838) with the same generic concepts for each, it is clear he was not proposing them as new but merely did not add the author attribution after the name. The mistaken attribution appears to have originated with Brauer (1893: 502), who designated a type species for Medoria of Meigen (1838: 203), but it was unnecessary as Meigen’s usage was of Medoria Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 as indicated by Macquart (1855: 28). [details]
