Taxonomic remark (as subgenus of Notropis). Fowler states that the type is P. luciodus and also states that Episema Jordan, based on scabriceps, is preoccupied; contrary to Jordan (1920), we do not feel Fowler proposed this as a replacement for Episema. (Eschmeyer). [details]
