Taxonomic remark err. pro Homaloptera v. Hasselt 1823 (Nomen. Zool.). Not labeled a new genus in the original description or in list of new genera in volume; but it was spelled consistently as Homalosoma in the original description, on plate, etc.; see Hora 1932. Homalosoma is regarded as available by Kottelat 2001. It is apparently a misspelling of Homaloptera which Boulenger confused with the snake genus Homalosoma. Not available, preoccupied by Homalosoma Wagler and Homalosoma Agassiz. (Eschmeyer). [details]
