Taxonomic remark Genus authorship not stated in Song et al., 2004. Palynodata has a record for this genus name dating from 1999 (Song et al., Fossil Spores and Pollen of China. Volume 1, reference not seen). Miaow et al., 2016 (Gondwana Research 31: 241-252) illustrate a specimen as "Moraceoipollenites Zheng gen. nov. sp." but it is unclear whether the same taxon is being referred to, or where the reference to Zheng originates (Zheng is not an author on that work).
