Taxonomic remark Type of Hypodytes Gistel 1848 was regarded as A. longispinis by Jordan 1919 such that Hypodytes is a senior objective synonym of Paracentropogon, but we interpret Gistel's Hypodytes to be a replacement of Apistus Cuvier 1829, with type Apistus alatus. Also appeared in Bleeker 1876. (Eschmeyer). [details]
