Taxonomic remark Erasipteridae is usually placed in an unranked taxon "Eomeganisoptera", but both this and the family are considered paraphyletic. Grimaldi & Engel (2005: p. 174) suggested placing it in order Geroptera alongside Eugeropteridae, then containing genera Eugeropton + Geropteron. However, Petrulevičius & Gutiérrez (2016) splits the order Geroptera into two, Eugeroptera (for Eugeropteron) and Geroptera (for Geropteron). [details]
