Taxonomic remark From Schneider & Wynne, 2019: Wynne (1985) had proposed the merger of Phrix within Apoglossum on the basis of morphological evidence. Muñoz et al. (2018) reinstated Phrix on the basis of molecular evidence. The name of the generitype is Phrix spatulata (E.Y. Dawson) M.J. Wynne, M. Kamiya et J.A. West in Muñoz et al. (2018), which has priority over the taxonomic synonym Phrix gregarium (E.Y. Dawson) M.J. Wynne. [details]
