Taxonomic remark From Pojeta et al., 2010: Septemchitonidae Bergenhayn, 1955, was based on the mistaken impression that Septemchiton Bergenhayn, 1955, had only seven valves. Rolfe (1981) restudied the articulated specimens in the type series and topotypes of S. vermiformis Bergenhayn, 1955, and demonstrated the presence of a small eighth (head) valve. ...
