Taxonomic remark Rosenberger et al., 2008, cited in Rosenberger, 2011, suggest that the type genus Omomys should be reassigned to Tarsiidae, together with Absarokius, Shoshonius, Tetonius and Xanthorhysis, in which case Omomyidae would become a synonym of Tarsiidae, and the remaining genera would take the next available family name which would be Anaptomorphidae; however this treatment has yet to gain traction with other workers.
