Descriptive info Marine, fossil: Triassic (Sepkoski 2002) - discrepancy? [details]
Taxonomic remark Sepkoski, 2002 lists Gonioconcha as an accepted marine, Triassic genus in Neotaenioglossa, however according to MolluscaBase (2023) it is a synonym of Pyrgulifera Meek, 1871 which is predominantly Cretaceous-Eocene in age. Since the type species of Gonioconcha, G. striata Bonarelli (1927) is from the Palaeocene of Argentina, it seems that Sepkoski's data are in error. [details]
