Taxonomic remark Family name from Index Nominum Genericorum, but does not appear to exist. Listed in ING in Rhodophyceae, however Proaulopora and related genera are cyanophytes (Nostocales) according to Liu et al., 2020; synonymy with Rivulariaceae is provisional in IRMNG, based on stated resemblance of some species of Proaulopora to the extant rivulariacean genus Dichothrix.
