Listed in ING in Rhodophyceae, however Proaulopora and related genera are cyanophytes (Nostocales) according to Liu et al., 2020; synonymy with Rivulariaceae is provisional in IRMNG, based on stated resemblance of some species of Proaulopora to the extant rivulariacean genus Dichothrix. [details]
