Taxonomic remark Not validly published: Lowry & Myers, 2017 state: "Schellenberg (1931) placed his new genus Pseudamphilochus in the family Amphilochidae, with the suggestion that there could be a family Pseudamphilochidae. Barnard & Karaman (1982) diagnosed the family but attributed authorship to Schellenberg (1931). In accordance with Article 13 of the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature (ICZN 1999, fourth edition) they needed to state that they were making a new family for the name to be considered valid." First valid publication is as Pseudamphilochidae Lowry & Myers, 2017. [details]
