Taxonomic remark Superfluous name, the protologue having included the type of Ensiculifera E. Balech ex Elenor R. Cox & H.J. Arnott 1971 (Index Nominum Genericorum), however an accepted name according to other workers. Referred to calcareous dinoflagellates (Thoracosphaeraceae) by Elbrächter et al., 2008. [details]
