Taxonomic remark A homotypic synonym of Neosphaerochloris F. Hindák 1990 according to Index Nominum Genericorum. Treated by Hindák, 1990 as a junior homonym of Sphaerochloris P.J.L. Dangeard, 1966 and replaced by Neosphaerochloris, however Wynn & Furnari, 2014 state that Sphaerochloris Dangeard is invalid and thus Sphaerochloris Hindák does not require to be replaced, a conclusion that possibly requires additional research.
