Taxonomic remark nom. rej. vs. Stilbella Lindau 1900 (nom. cons.) (Index Nominum Genericorum), however Siefert, 1985 states: "This genus was considered congeneric with Stilbella by Lindau (1900), and he transferred two species, the original species B. alba Preuss and a later species B. dubia Preuss (1852), into his new genus Stilbella. As indicated by Benjamin (1968), Stilbella is an illegitimate name under Article 63, since Botryonipha was available at the time Stilbella was proposed. However, following Benjamin's proposal, Stilbella was conserved over Botryonipha. Hughes (1969) has since shown that B. alba is based on the acanthophyses of a hymenomycete, and Botryonipha is hence not a synonym of Stilbella." [details]
