Taxonomic remark Originally described as Chlorophyceae (Palmellaceae) and previously listed as such in WoRMS/AlgaeBase, however a glaucophyte, according to Kies & Kremer, 1990. AlgaeBase, 2021 version places in Glaucophyceae, family Gloeochaetales incertae sedis; Price et al., 2017 (presently followed in IRMNG) place in Glaucocystaceae. [details]
