Taxonomic remark From Schrank, 2003: Remarks: Sarjeant and Stancliffe (1994) treated Odontothrix as a subgenus of Micrhystridium. In the present paper Odontothrix is retained as a separate genus because some of the characteristics of the constituent species do not fit into the emended diagnosis (Sarjeant and Stancliffe, 1994, p. 12) of Micrhystridium.
