In addition to rejecting this name versus Laricoidites, the Nomenclature Committee for Fossils ruled that the names Laevigata-sporites, Laevigati-sporites and Laevigato-sporites (in either their hyphenated or non hyphenated forms) were not sufficiently alike to be confusable names (Herendeen, 2017).
