Taxonomic remark Richardson, 1971 included the following genera in Haemopidae: Haemopis, Percymoorensis (in subfamily Haemopinae); Mollibdella, Bdellarogatis (in subfamily Mollibdellinae), with genera Philobdella and Semiscolex, originally tentatively included now excluded: Philobdella to Macrobdellidae, Semiscolex to an unspecified higher taxon. Parker, 1982 lists the family with "7 genera and about 20 species" (names not given except for Percymoorensis, listed in a reference title). [details]
