Descriptive info Devonian (Chemungian); Ithaca, New York, U.S.A. (Index Nominum Genericorum) [details]
Taxonomic remark Previously proposed to be a senior synonym of Rellimia S. Leclercq & P.M. Bonamo, 1973 (nom. nov. for Milleria W.H. Lang, 1926, nom. illeg.), however this is based on a misconception (the type species of the genera are different), refer Bonamo, 1983. The affinities of this taxon are obscure: the lectotype, P. vanuxemii, was initially described as a fossil lycophyte (Lycopsida) but was also suggested to be possibly animal under the name Plumalina plumaria Hall - initially as graptolite remains, subsequently as Hydrozoa, refer Muscente & Allmon, 2013, in which case a different lectotype should perhaps be chosen.
