Taxonomic remark Originally described as a primitive barnacle and sole representative of a new order (Apoda), now considered to be a parasitic isopod (refer Newman, 1987). 1 species subsequently transferred to y-larvae. Year given in Nomenclator Zoologicus as 1851, in WoRMS and elsewhere as 1854. [details]
