Taxonomic remark No description of type species, only reference to description of a 'sporomorph'. (Index Nominum Genericorum). Identified as similar to pollen of modern Dacrydium (now=Lagarostrobos) franklinii, refer Cookson, 1953. In that paper the name is suggested (invalidly) to be changed to the descriptive new name Dacrydiumites, a change which is followed by some workers although most recent ones continue to use e.g. Phyllocladidites mawsonii, not Dacrydiumites mawsonii as proposed by Cookson. [details]
