Taxonomic remark Family assignment in IRMNG is tentative: published sources e.g. Zhao et al., 2018 mostly assign only to Bennettitales (=Cycadeoideales in IRMNG) with no intermediate family, however Pott & McLoughlin, 2014 state that at least some members of Williamsoniaceae bear this foliage. Cleal et al., 2006, established that the type of the genus is N. tenuinervis, not N. vittata as previously used by many authors, also that some foliage previously assigned to N. tenuinervis by other authors is incorrectly classified and not from this species/genus/order.
