Taxonomic remark Taxonomic placement unclear: The PaleoBiology DB (2023) lists in order Axinellida "according to R. Wood 1987"; West et al., 2013 (whose authors include R.A. Wood) include at the end of a section on Agelasida (authored by others) but out of alphabetic sequence and with no reference to agelasids in relevant text, therefore it is possible - but not explicitly stated - that the family is intended to be placed in that order.
