IRMNG editor: The Astro- stem (as opposed to Astero-) is per the original publication of the genus name by Eichwald in 1840, however he later used Astero- and the prevailing view (as repeated by Van der Laan) is that the Astro- form represents an incorrect original spelling. [details]
