Taxonomic remark Brown, Silberman & Spiegel, 2012 allocate this family to Acrasida (Excavata), however in a separate paper (Brown, Kolisko, Silberman & Roger, 2012) they reallocate it to Rhizaria incertae sedis. More recently (Adl et al., 2019) the family is treated as a member of superfamily Sainouroidea (elsewhere allocated to Rhizaria: Cercozoa: Monadofilosa). The name Guttulinopsidae is preferred over Guttulinidae since the generic name Guttulina is preoccupied in zoological nomenclature. [details]
