Taxonomic remark n.n. pro Lophiotherium Gervais 1849 (Nomen. Zool.). The cited basionym, Lophiotherium Gervais 1849 is a nomen nudum, however the name was validly published by Gervais, 1850 and the latter is considered a current accepted name and is on the Official List cf. Lophiotherium Fischer, 1829, a suppressed name. The justification for Kretzoi & Kretzoi's proposed replacement of Lophiotherium with Lophitherulum has not been further researched, but appears unnecessary. [details]
