Taxonomic remark Genus erected by Beresford for 4 species previously in Althe, namely Pseudalethe poliocephala (type), P. fuelleborni, P. poliophrys and P. choloensis. Genus accepted in some recent works e.g. Sangster et al., 2010, also Clement, 2016 ("Robins and Chats", Bloomsbury Publishing) and ITIS (2023), although Wikipedia (2023) uses Chamaetylas for this genus. According to https://www.birdforum.net/opus/Category:Pseudalethe, "Chamaetylas has priority over Pseudalethe, so IOC and Howard and Moore place all species in Chamaetylas." [details]
