Taxonomic remark Originally placed in its own order and family; Herrera et al., 2017 consider Vladimaria as "closely related to Umaltolepidaceae, but we exclude it from the family until it is better understood as a whole plant.”, and also "based on the seed-bearing structures there is no doubt that the two genera [i.e., Vladimaria and Umaltolepis] are closely related". On this basis, Vladimaria is allocated provisionally to Umaltolepidaceae in IRMNG at this time. [details]
