Taxonomic remark Ichnogenus (fossil coprolite). From Knaust, 2020: Coprolithus was proposed as an informal term only, and thus is regarded as a nomen nudum (Hantzschel 1975; Molinari Paganelli et al. 1980). Consequently, C. salevensis Parejas, 1948 and C. prusensis Parejas, 1948 were transferred to Favreina by Bronnimann (1976, 1977), and C. decemlunulatus Parejas, 1948 to Palaxius by Forster & von Hillebrandt (1984). Maslov (1973) mentioned and figured the ichnospecies C. vermicularis, C. sphaericus, C. spiraliformis and C. communis from thin sections but they remain poorly defined as nomina nuda. [details]
