Taxonomic remark Originally in Ntodontidae. From Pitkin & Jenkins: Watson, Fletcher & Nye (1980) stated:- A junior homonym of Nemeta Walker, 1855, ibidem 4: 968, Lepid., Limacodidae. There is no objective replacement name, but Nemeta basifusca is conspecific with Nemeta bifacies Walker, 1855, the type-species of Nemeta Walker, 1855, ibidem 4: 968; the latter is thus available for use as a subjective replacement name. (According to LepIndex, the current name for Nemata Walker [1] is Phobetron Hübner, 1825). [details]
