Descriptive info Carboniferous; S.S.S.R. (Index Nominum Genericorum) (as Gynkaletes) [details]
Taxonomic remark This genus (apparently the same taxon) is spelled Gynkaletes in Index Nominum Genericorum, and Gynkgaletes in Potonié, R. (1958). Synopsis der Gattungen der Sporae dispersae II and in Palynodata (which has no entry for "Gynkaletes"). Both spellings have been used in the literature; at present in IRMNG, the spelling Gynkgaletes is treated as correct following Potonié and Palynodata, with Gynkaletes as a variant spelling (synonym), however the reverse may also be correct.
