Taxonomic remark From Wang & Liu, 2015: Stenokoleales of the Middle Devonian to Early Carboniferous represents a distinct order within the “radiate protoxylem” group comprising plants such as aneurophytes and some early spermatophytes. This order may have a close affinity with the seed plants (ref. cited is Matten LC.
