Taxonomic remark Anderson & Anderson, 2003 refer Dordrechtites to their newly created family and order Dordrechtitaceae and Dordrechtitales which they place in Pinopsida, however according to Bergene et al., 2013, Playford et al. (1982) considered D. dikeressa to have corystosperm affinities; Bergene et al. list the genus in incertae sedis gymnosperms, noting that it is "probable that the affinities are within the seed ferns". [details]
