Taxonomic remark Anderson & Anderson, 2003 created this family (plus order Fraxinopsidales ["Fraxinopsiales"] for Fraxinopsis Wieland, 1929, assigning them to class Gnetopsida, however Ash, 2011 simply considers Fraxinopsis as a "gymnosperm of uncertain classification because there is no strong evidence indicating its affinities". Anderson & Anderson's new family may in fact have already been named earlier, as Fraxinopsidaceae E. Kon'no, 1961 ("Fraxinopsisaceae"), refer International Fossil Plant Names Index (IFPNI), 2022 version. [details]
