Taxonomic remark The describers assign this taxon to the Avatiaceae in Ginkgoales, however the ovulate organs named Avatia appear not to be of Ginkgoalean type (presently treated as Czekanowskiales in IRMNG, per Hrabovský, 2021). Eosteria pollen organs do have similarities with those of Ginkgo so the genus is placed here in Ginkgoales incertae sedis. [details]
