Taxonomic remark Type species S. taiyuanense B. Tian & S.-J. Wang emend. S.-J. Wang & J. Hilton (stem) which is associated with Cordaites taiyuanensis leaves, Cordaitanthus ximinensis male cones and Cordaitanthus xishanensis female cones, also Cardiocarpus taiyuanensis ovules; the entire plant is referred to as s Shanxioxylon taiyuanense.
