Taxonomic remark From Pleş et al., 2017: Koskinobullina socialis represents a microcolonial encrusting organism characterized by agglomerations of bubble-shaped semi-spherical cells (vesicles) arranged side by side. The inner cavity of the cells is filled with spar calcite with a radial appearance in longitudinal sections. All cells have a distinct wall, perforated by series of small pores. ... this species is still regarded as incertae sedis, and many authors questioned its phylogenetic position (Cherchi and Schroeder, 1979; Schmid, 1996; Sánchez-Beristain et al., 2013). [details]
