Taxonomic remark Unplaced to class, order or family by describers; groups phylogenetically with 2 species of Microsporidium and 2 species of Cucumispora per their Fig. 1. Cucumispora is placed in order Microspora, family Nosematidae (suborder Apansporoblastina) by Atlas of Living Australia (2024) but in order Glugeida, family Thelohaniidae by Wijayawardene et al., 2020, currently followed in IRMNG. As at 2024, NBII Taxonomy presently lists Toguebayea in family Unikaryonidae (suborder Apansporoblastina), possibly in error (no supporting evidence found in the literature); the latter family is also in Glugeida per Wijayawardene et al., 2020. [details]
