Taxonomic remark This name appears in Ahyong et al., 2011, but appears to be non-existent. From WoRMS, 2019: "This never existed. It's origin seems to be from an unverified website which cited a paper in press which was never published. (Boxshall, Geoff)." It is interpreted here as an error for the validly published name Cyclopinidae Sars, 1913, which is based on the genus Cyclopina Claus, 1863. The presently accepted family name Cyclopicinidae was proposed by Khodami et al., 2017, based on the genus Cyclopicina Lindberg, 1953. [details]
