Taxonomic remark Neave lists both "Arachnidia Hincks 1859 Rep. Brit. Ass., 28, 1858, Not. & Abstr., 128" and "Arachnidium Hincks 1877 Ann. Mag. nat. Hist., (4) 20, 216. (pro -nidia Hincks 1859)". Technically the name should stand as originally published, however Hinks in his 1877 work stated that the spelling used in his original publication was erroneous and proposed Arachnidium as the corrected version. The corrected spelling has now entered prevailing usage associated with the original (1859) year, per the Bock World List of Bryozoa/WoRMS, and is presently followed in IRMNG, effectively making the second entry in Neave a later usage.
