Taxonomic remark From Landing, 1995: Yunnanodus Wang and Jiang in Jiang (1980), a Lower Cambrian genus known from conoidal sclerites with denticles at the base of the element, may be a protoconodont; however, the original mineralogy and histology of Yunnanodus sclerites are unknown (Qian and Bengtson, 1989), and its affinity is problematical.
